The harmonised standards supporting the CRA are moving forward: several draft product standards are entering the public enquiry phase, the stage where the text is open for comments before being finalised.

These are the standards that, once published in the EU Official Journal, will grant a **presumption of conformity** with the essential requirements of Annex I: applying them will be the ordinary route — especially for "important" and "critical" products — to demonstrate conformity without necessarily going through a notified body.

**Why it matters.** Anyone designing today a product that will still be in production in 2028 is already making CRA decisions. Tracking the drafts as they take shape — instead of waiting for the final version — means aligning technical choices with the common language that will become the reference standard, and avoiding having to redo them later.

The status of the standards and the deadlines is in the [CRA state-of-play tracker](/en/state-of-play/cybersecurity/).
